about

Nerd Table, hailing from Columbus, Ohio, will release their new album "Nerd Table vs. Galactic Turkey" on July 7th 2018. Adam Casto (vocals), Nick Nighbert (guitar), Michael Flowers (drums) and David Lawler (bass) worked together on this epic collaboration with over 50 different contributors involved. The album cover is by the artist known as Galactic Turkey. Additional art by Photocoyote (Soundgarden, Mudhoney), Brian Dellinger (Bedside Island) and Scott Stevens (the first bassist for the Butthole Surfers). "Run Towards The Bomb" is a collaboration with two members of the Meat Puppets, Elmo Kirkwood and Kyle Ellison, which spans two generations of the legendary band, alongside backing vocals by Derrick Hessler (Spindler's Dream)."Critical Hit!"confidently radiates raw musical expressions amidst unrestrained technical mastery. In "Critical Hit!" the band collaborates with two members of the late 90's super-group Handsome, Jeremy Chatelain and Peter Mengede (Peter was also a founding member of noise rock band Helmet). For "Good Times and Metal Slimes" Nerd Table singer Adam Casto shares an autobiographical song which captures the angst and growth of a musician and human being coming from the west side of Columbus, Ohio."Media Mind Fuck" features Joel Horstman of the now defunct and much missed Storm Kills 4 from Lima, Ohio. Horstman brings a perfect blend of sarcasm and intelligence, mixed in with some fuck it all mentality, creating a truly humanist musical work. The eclectic blending of rock and punk in the song "Blinded More Than Anything" is raw and edgy with emotion bursting out of its seams. Featuring lyrics penned by David Abbruzzese of Pearl Jam, blistering guitar by Peter DiStefano from Porno for Pyros, and heartfelt and honest vocals by Neil Alday of Socialburn. It creates a chaotic vision easily enjoyed by all. "Formula Zero" is a creatively intense instrumental featuring Joe Daniels (Local H) on drums, Kurt Danielson (TAD) on bass, and David Abbruzzese (Pearl Jam) on guitar. It leaves you dazed and hungry for more. With punk-rock precision "Egon's Ferrari" offers an auditory trek into the razor-edged musical minds of Nerd Table. It featuring lyrics and vocals by musician/actor Brian Bonsall of Sunset Silhouette, Family Ties, Blank Check, and The Ataris. "Egon's Ferrari" is new take on the previous release "Egon's Trans Am" from Nerd Table's 2009 Nut to Nut with The Deaf Nephews EP. "Warrior Souls" is a true testament to Nerd Table's ability to incorporate the human experience into a thought-provoking and emotionally charged musical work. Featuring Geoff Spall from the Columbus, Ohio band Friendly Faux, Aaron Perkins and Ty Shoopman. "Warrior Souls" is a loving tribute to Army Sgt. Andrew Perkins, a paratrooper who gave his life on March 5, 2007 while attempting to rescue members of his unit from an improvised explosive device during Operation Iraqi Freedom. With Aaron Perkins and Ty Shoopman's emotional spoken word tribute to their fallen brethren, a glimpse of brothers both biological and chosen is both touching and inspiring. The punk rock fundamentals are proudly displayed and heard on "Gagging On Uncle Sam's Dick". This political banger features some killer guitar work from David Abbruzzse (Green Romance Orchestra). Nerd Table explodes with "It's Shoved/Milk It". This is a merging of the two legendary songs by (the) Melvins and Nirvana. Featuring the grunge pioneers themselves King Buzzo (vocals) and Dale Crover (guitar/vocals) of the legendary Melvins along with the producer and mixer of the track Billy Anderson. The collaborative genius of Nerd Table shines in the release of the epic "Noise of Earth Part 5" in which they bring together musicians from all gambits. Featuring Joe Daniels (Local H), Geoff Robinson (Blood Circus), David Abbruzzese (Pearl Jam), Kurt Danielson (TAD), Rodleen Getsic (Deftones/Knife Party), Kevin Rutmanis (Melvins/the Cows/Tomahawk/Teenage Larvae/Hepa/Titus) Billy Anderson (Melvins - Houdini), Jeff Pinkus (Butthole Surfers/Melvins/Honky), Terence Smart (Butthole Surfers/Part White), Nathan Calhoun (Butthole Surfers/We Are The Asteroid), 4 members of the underground Columbus band the Indestructible Robots (Brett Atherton, John Tredway, Maxx Davis and Joe Filio), 2 members of Gelatinus Cube (Pat Chase and Sean Castanien), Derrick Hessler (Spindler's Dream), Columbus public access icon Damon Zex, John Bess Jr. (Howard Stern Show), Brian Dellinger (Kirkwood-Dellinger), Matthew Draudt (Eradicate), honorary Nerd Table members Bobby Brown and Andy Sartain, former Nerd Table members Jacob Walker, Aaron White and Tony Osterloh, and topped off in amazing fashion by Lisa Rau of Vladopus9. Tad Doyle of the seminal band TAD, Skyway Audio and Witch Ape Studio mastered the album. Andy Sartain (Mindfield Recording Studio) was the chief engineer for Nerd Table and he produced and mixed "Run Towards The Bomb", "Good Times and Metal Slimes", "Media Mind Fuck", "Formula Zero", "Egon's Ferrari", "Warrior Souls" and "Noise of Earth Part 5". David Abbruzzese produced and mixed "Blinded More Than Anything", "Gagging On Uncle Sam's Dick" and "Critical Hit!". The album features the work of the following recording engineers: Toshi Kasai (Sound of Sirens), Rob Ruccia (Uptown Recording), Jamie Hillyer (Module Overload), Ron Nine (Vaporland Studios), Aaron J. Stone (Stonehenge Sound), Brian Boyer, Ryder (Litt Studio) and Jerry Gaskins (Gasoline Alley). Amazing digital design and layout by Øyvind Nordrum Brattås. Nerd Table logo by Mackie Osborne.
